While Arizona Cardinals running back Kenyan Drake is the team's main option out of the backfield, Chase Edmonds has been featured as a change-of-pace back. However, with Edmonds possibly limited in their Week 15 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, Drake's fantasy outlook gets a nice boost.
Chase Edmonds Fantasy Outlook
It appears Edmonds will play in Week 15, but it remains to be seen how well he'll be able to play given the ankle injury that made him miss practice earlier this week. He could also be in for a lighter role than usual, assuming he does suit up.
Edmonds has the potential for decent games when involved in offense, but it sounds like the injury will threaten his workload. For a running back who is clearly No. 2 on the depth chart, that doesn't bode well for his fantasy production.
In fact, Edmonds hasn't topped double digits in fantasy points (PPR) once in the last three weeks, showcasing his downward trend after six double-digit performances earlier in the season. The injury and clear favortism for Drake make Edmonds a bench option this week.
Kenyan Drake Fantasy Outlook
Drake, however, has been on an upward trend. With Edmonds' injury possibly giving him even more touches, he's primed for great production in Week 15.
The Cardinals' lead back has scored at least 1 touchdown in each of the team's last four games. Drake has also posted four straight fantasy performances with at least 13 fantasy points, likely a result of the 19.8 opportunities per game (16.5 rushes plus 3.3 targets) he's averaging over those four contests.
Drake's involvement in the offense has been growing, and that doesn't look like it'll stop now. Already poised to be a great start candidate against the Philadelphia Eagles, who are allowing the ninth-most rushing yards per game (127.3), Drake should be a lineup lock in the fantasy football playoffs.
