The Los Angeles Chargers are preparing for a Wild-Card Weekend matchup on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Despite being the road team, the Chargers are the team the oddsmakers favor slightly in this one.
Mike Williams Injury Update
However, Los Angeles found out on Friday that it will be without one of its biggest offensive playmakers on Saturday. Wideout Mike WIlliams has officially been ruled out of the team's playoff matchup with a small fracture in his back.
The injury was not discovered with the initial X-ray or MRI. Not only will he miss this week, but is expected to be sidelined for the next 2-3 games.
So, as of now, it appears that unless the Chargers make a run to the Super Bowl, William' season may have come to an end.
Williams had a breakout year last season, hauling in over 1,100 yards for the first time in his career and nine touchdowns. He had also cleared the 1,000-yard mark in 2019, but only managed to score twice.
Williamns was similarly effective this season, although he played in three less games. The Chargers will now have to get his production made up through other players like Keenan Allen, Josh Palmer and Austin Ekeler.
