After propelling the Los Angeles Chargers to victory over the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football, Dustin Hopkins has been rewarded for his heroic performance.

Hopkins was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 6 on Wednesday, earning the weekly honor for the third time in his career.

Despite suffering a strained hamstring on Monday, Hopkins stayed in the game and drilled kick after kick for Los Angeles, including the game-winner in overtime. When it was all said and done, Hopkins had gone 4-for-4 on field goal attempts and added an extra point as well, contributing 13 of the Chargers' 19 points in their 19-16 victory over the Broncos.

Hopkins' perseverance and clutch kicks ultimately saved his team in a division rivalry game during primetime, helping LA earn its third straight win and improve to 4-2. His outstanding effort was even more impressive considering he'd only made 5 field goals combined in his first four games of the season before missing Week 5 with a quad injury.

The Chargers are hopeful that Hopkins can come back healthy for Week 7 against the Seattle Seahawks. Los Angeles is favored by 6.5 points at home on FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
