3 Favorites to Acquire Carson Wentz for the 2021 NFL Season

There is no debate that Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz struggled last season before he was eventually benched in favor of rookie Jalen Hurts. It has caused trade rumors to surface throughout the offseason so far and the young playmaker could be moved soon.
A number of teams could be interested in trading for Wentz in hopes of helping him return to his Pro Bowl form. With that in mind, here are the three biggest favorites to acquire Wentz, according to player future odds posted on FanDuel Sportsbook in Colorado.
3. Houston Texans (+450)
In this case, we have a story within a story. The Texans surely wouldn't be interested in trading for Wentz unless they trade away starting quarterback Deshaun Watson first. The Texans seem to be entering a rebuild period and could use players on their team who are motivated to go out and try to win games. Wentz is a perfect bounce-back candidate and could improve given a change of scenery. Who knows, maybe he even returns to his 2017 form in which he threw for 3,296 yards and 33 touchdowns in 13 games played.
2. Chicago Bears (+250)
The Chicago Bears have tried over and over to find their franchise quarterback. This past season, former first-round pick Mitchell Trubisky and former Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles took turns starting. The Bears made the playoffs, but still are not certain who their quarterback will be come next season. With Trubisky becoming a free agent, trading for Wentz would allow the Bears to take a chance on a player with intriguing upside. Plus, Chicago has showed in the past that it is not afraid to make a big trade as the Bears acquired Khalil Mack back in 2018.
1. Indianapolis Colts (-200)
But the Indianapolis Colts are the heavy favorites to acquire Wentz. Philip Rivers was the team's starting quarterback last season, but he has since retired. The Colts are now left with Jacoby Brissett and are surely looking to upgrade at the position. Head coach Frank Reich was a part of the Eagles' coaching staff when Wentz was putting up his career-best numbers a few years ago. A reunion would make sense here as Wentz would be surrounded by young playmakers on offense and a strong defense. Right now, signs point to Wentz playing in Lucas Oil Stadium next season as the most likely scenario.
