Carlos Rodon Speaks Out Against Dylan Cease's All-Star Team Snub
By Larry Rupp

The full MLB All-Star Game rosters were announced on Sunday night and San Francisco Giants pitcher Carlos Rodon was tagged as one of the biggest snubs. He has already been there before, though, which makes seeing his former teammate Dylan Cease be left off the team even more hurtful.
Carlos Rodón said an All-Star snub hurts more for guys who haven’t received the honor in the past. He seemed more bothered that his former White Sox teammate, Dylan Cease, was left off. “He put together a first half better than a lot of guys on that list.”

Dylan Cease MLB All-Star Game
Rodon told reporters that Cease "put together a first half better than a lot of guys on that list." In many ways, he is right about the Chicago White Sox ace. Cease ranks above Texas' Martin Perez in ERA, above Yankees' Gerrit Cole in strikeouts and above Oakland's Paul Blackburn in innings pitched.
Of course, Rodon has seen the 26-year-old's talent firsthand considering the two played on the White Sox together for three seasons (2019-21). Cease has been on fire this season, posting a 7-4 record and 2.45 ERA across 17 starts (92.0 innings). He has also racked up 133 strikeouts on the year.
The one thing holding Cease back may be the fact that the White Sox have failed to live up to expectations in 2022. Chicago owns a 41-43 record approaching the break and is currently on the outside looking in when it comes to the playoffs. That's certainly not because of his efforts, though.
For now, White Sox and Giants fans alike will simply have to hope their No. 1 starter gets named as an alternate and fills in for someone due to injury or rest next week. Both Chicago and San Francisco have odds set at +3800 to win the World Series, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
