The St. Louis Cardinals could use some positive momentum. They currently sit below .500 at 40-41, and they're now 8.0 games back of the Milwaukee Brewers for first place in the NL Central.
However, a much-needed reinforcement is on the way in outfielder Harrison Bader.
Harrison Bader Injury Update
Bader has been activated off of the injured list by the team ahead of Thursday's clash with the Colorado Rockies, which is great news. The centerfielder has been sidelined since May 24 after he suffered a rib injury on a diving play and it's taken longer than initially expected for him to recover.
But, he recently did a rehab stint at Palm Beach and is now ready for action. He's hit 4 home runs and 9 RBI this season while slashing .219/.301/.411.
Bader will certainly look to improve upon his early-season numbers, although he never got much time to find his groove. Now he should provide a serious boost to a team that needs it. St. Louis is a current longshot at +1400 odds to win the NL Central, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
