The Arizona Cardinals limped along for the first six weeks of the 2022 NFL season, all while knowing a very important piece of the roster would return in Week 7. Arizona went 2-4 and saw their offense post 25 fewer passing yards per game compared to a year ago.
There may be plenty of other holes to fill on the roster, but the importance of superstar wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins' return cannot be overstated.
Hopkins returned to the practice field on Tuesday, his first work back since getting activated from the suspension list. Check out the first sighting below.
Hopkins was forced into a six-game suspension after violating the league's performance enhancing drugs policy. He's seen chatting with a couple of coaches, and looks poised for a long-awaited return.
The five-time Pro Bowler will immediately step into the WR1 role he vacated, and the timing could not be more perfect after the loss of fill-in Marquise Brown, who went down with an injury in Week 6. Brown may be on the shelf for six weeks.
Arizona returns a stud, one who has recorded at least 1,150+ receiving yards in six of his nine NFL seasons. He's also tallied at least 8 or more TDs in four of those campaigns.
