The Arizona Cardinals decided on Tuesday they needed to bolster their depth at the linebacker position. They did so by signing linebacker Blake Lynch, formerly of the Minnesota Vikings, to their practice squad.

Lynch has been in the league since 2020 after going undrafted and actually played in 16 games for the Vikings in 2021. He recorded 35 tackles, an interception and 2 sacks last season.

The Cardinals have some linebackers banged up right now, specifically Zaven Collins, Dennis Gardeck and Nick Vigil, who is on IR. Lynch immediately helps that depth and could be a reliable depth piece until the linebacking corps are healthy again.

The Cardinals are set to go up against the New Orleans Saints in Week 7 on Thursday Night Football, where they are 1.5-point home favorites, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest NFL odds.
