Linebacker C.J. Mosley has only played two games since joining the New York Jets prior to the 2019 season, but in that time, the Jets defense has been underwhelming. However, he claims this is the year that it all turns around. The Pro Bowler even went as far as giving out an NSFW message for everyone overlooking this team heading into the fall.

"If people come with that same mentality, they're going to get their a-- blown out. That's 100 percent, whether we're at MetLife or anywhere else."

Mosley didn't hold back stating his case about why this defense will shock a lot of people during the 2021 season. Specifically, he mentioned an "explosive D-line that's going to get after it". The Jets are in desperate need of improvement in that area after posting just 31 sacks last season (T-No. 20 in NFL).

The 29-year-old will be looking to make an immediate impact on defense after injuries caused him to play in only two games in 2019. Mosley then decided to opt out of the 2020 season. He racked up 105 tackles, 5 pass breakups and 1 interception during his last full season of play (2018).

The Jets have their eyes set on becoming a defensive-minded team after the hiring of head coach Robert Salah. Any sort of advancement from a team that allowed 28.6 points per game in 2020 (No. 26 in NFL) would go a long way in helping rookie quarterback Zach Wilson avoid getting behind in games.

Obviously, Mosley thinks the Jets are a team to watch out for. However, they remain a long shot to make the playoffs with odds set at +490, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
