Bucs Elevate Veteran Wide Receiver to Active Roster After Antonio Brown Suspension

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were in the headlines on Thursday after wide receiver Antonio Brown was handed a three-game suspension for providing false vaccination information. The team has now decided to elevate veteran wideout Breshad Perriman to the active roster in order to take his place.
Bucs are signing WR Breshad Perriman to their active roster, per his agent @DrewJRosenhaus. Perriman presumably is taking the roster spot opened by the Antonio Brown suspension.

Perriman was originally signed to Tampa Bay's practice squad back in early November and has been active for two games this season (Weeks 10 & 11). The sixth-year pro hauled in 2 of his 4 targets for 19 yards in a win against the New York Giants when filling in for an injured Scotty Miller.
Keep in mind the sixth-year pro is just two years removed from the best season of his career. Perriman racked up 645 yards and 6 touchdowns on 36 receptions across 14 games played with the Buccaneers in 2019. Overall, he also averages a reliable 16.4 yards per reception.
The duo of Mike Evans and Chris Godwin should see a majority of the targets on Sunday, but Perriman could push for some snaps on the outside like he has in the past. Other wide receivers set to be active for Tampa Bay include Miller and Tyler Johnson.
The Buccaneers seem to have found their groove and will look to win their third consecutive game when they take on the Atlanta Falcons in Week 13 NFL action. Tampa Bay heads into that matchup as 10.5-point road favorites, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
