Bucs GM Has Insane Tom Brady Successor in Mind

Quarterback stability is huge for any NFL team. While Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are busy celebrating their Super Bowl LV win, there's surely some in the organization thinking about what comes next after Brady eventually retires.
Well, Bucs GM Jason Licht has a surprising successor option already in mind.

Licht believes that journeyman and current backup Blaine Gabbert is a potential route the Bucs could go in a post-Brady era. He's not the flashiest option, but Licht had glowing things to say about his arm strength and accuracy.
It's been a long road for the former No. 10 overall pick, playing for five teams since entering the league in 2011. His three-season stint with the Jackson Jaguars was unsuccessful, and he moved on to the San Francisco 49ers, Arizona Cardinals and Tennessee Titans before landing in Tampa in 2019.
Licht thinks that Gabbert staying in the Buccaneers' system for multiple years would help him seamlessly transition sometime down the road. It's an interesting thought at least.
But at 31 years old, Gabbert is no spring chicken, and there's no telling how long Brady will be able to hold off Father Time.
