The NFL regular season remains less than two weeks away, but teams around the league face their toughest decisions yet. On Tuesday, all 32 NFL teams must lock in their 53-man rosters with the final round of training camp cuts. This last round is the toughest and includes a number of cuts to talented fringe players, including Tanner Hudson of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Hudson dominated throughout the preseason, finishing as the Buccaneers leading receiver through Tampa Bay's first two games. However, the tight end was cut on Monday and will look to find a home with a different franchise this year.

Despite his flash of brilliance in the preseason, this cut makes perfect sense given the Buccaneers' deep depth chart at tight end. Rob Gronkowski, Cameron Brate and O.J. Howard lead the tight end corps in Tampa Bay. But, Hudson may have earned a shot with a different team thanks to his play.

In two preseason tilts, Hudson caught 10 passes for 122 yards including long receptions of 26 and 18 yards, respectively. Reports suggest that head coach Bruce Arians did notice a downtick in Hudson's blocking abilities, which may have finished his chances at making the roster.

The 26-year-old undrafted tight end spent his last two seasons in Tampa Bay, seeing action in 20 games with five receptions on 12 targets. However, teams eyeing pass-catching help at the tight end position may want to consider adding Hudson to the practice roster ahead of Week 1.

Currently, the Buccaneers own the second-best odds (+650) to win Super Bowl 56 on FanDuel Sportsbook.
