Mike Evans suffered a back injury during the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Week 11 win over the New York Giants on Monday night. He seemingly played through the pain the rest of the game, but things clearly have troubled him this week at practice.
Mike Evans Injury Update
Evans sat out of practice on Thursday for the second straight day. Anytime a player misses a Thursday practice, its cause for serious concern.
While there is no definitive answer on Evan's status for Week 12 yet, being without him would be a huge hit to Tampa's offense.
He has once again been the Bucs' No. 1 wideout this season, hauling in 47 catches for 697 yards and a league-leading 10 touchdowns. While the team could get Antonio Brown back in the lineup this week, missing Evans would put them right back in the same position of being down a major contributor in the passing game. Brown also missed Thursday's practice, so there's a real chance both end up sitting.
The Bucs draw a tougher matchup in Week 12 when they head to Indianapolis to take on the Colts. Tampa remains a 3-point road favorite in that game, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, but that line could change if we see Evans sit out.
