The offseason has brought a ton of changes already to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Head coach Todd Bowles has parted ways with several members of his staff, including offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich.

Now it turns out Bowles could replace Leftwich with a rising NFC East coach.

New York Giants quarterbacks coach Shea Tierney will interview for the Bucs' OC job, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. Tierney joins the likes of Jim Bob Cooter and Todd Monken as candidates to succeed Leftwich.

Tierney has risen up the coaching ranks since 2011, splitting time between the NFL and collegiate level. He was then hired by Nick Saban as an offensive analyst at Alabama, and won a national championship there.

Tierney followed fellow Alabama coach Brian Daboll to the Buffalo Bills, and the latter hired the former when he signed on as the Giants' HC this past offseason. The current QBs coach for New York helped Daniel Jones enjoy a career year in 2022, adding to his case as a possible OC candidate around the league.

Hiring a young candidate like Tierney could be the way Tampa Bay needs to go in order to rejuvenate its offense. His background and stops with several successful offenses show he's a perfect fit to lead a unit of his own.
