Browns Sign Linebacker to Active Roster After Anthony Walker Injury Update

The Cleveland Browns received some troubling news on Friday when it was revealed that veteran linebacker Anthony Walker was placed on the injured reserve due to a hamstring strain. Now, the Browns have signed fifth-year outside linebacker Elijah Lee from their practice squad to the active roster.

Lee was selected in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings. He arrived in Cleveland via waivers last season and was re-signed back in March before being cut in August. The Browns then re-signed him to the practice squad.
Lee's five-year career has seen a lot of movement, playing 51 career games (six starts) for three different teams over that span. He's managed to record 85 total tackles, two forced fumbles and 1.0 sacks during his career and should be a decent stop-gap until Walker is back in the lineup.
Even without Walker, the Browns are heavy favorites to beat the Houston Texans in Week 2. Cleveland's moneyline odds currently sit at -650, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, while Houston is the +480 underdog.
