Browns-Odell Beckham Reunion Could Be More Likely Than You Think

The divorce between Odell Beckham Jr. and the Cleveland Browns was a messy one that included lots of drama off of the field. Both sides finally moved on after the wide receiver was cut, and he then went on to help the Los Angeles Rams win the Super Bowl while Cleveland missed the playoffs.

Though things ended poorly, it turns out a Beckham-Browns reunion isn't completely off of the table.

Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com claims OBJ is "open" a return becaused he "loved his teammates and Browns fans." Beckham's discontent stemmed from a rocky relationship with Baker Mayfield, who's now on his way out of town.

"But now that Mayfield is on his way out and three-time Pro Bowler Deshaun Watson is here, Beckham, 29, wouldn’t rule out coming back if the Browns were interested."

This is certainly a surprise. Most Browns fans would think this is an impossible outcome, yet there's a at least a possibility.

Cabot characterizes a reunion scenario as "unlikely," so the odds are against these two sides coming together once again. There's no denying Deshaun Watson taking over, though, could tempt OBJ to spurn the defending champion Rams in free agency.

Another big factor is Beckham's health following an ACL tear in the Super Bowl. The Browns could give him all the time he needs with Amari Cooper serving as the new No. 1 pass-catcher. Watson's playing status for 2022 being up in the air also means the team doesn't need to contend right away.

Cleveland can offer a great situation for OBJ, who'd be able to recover stress-free in a city he clearly has an affinity for. Watson's arrival makes this situation all the more intriguing as the 29-year-old wideout determines where he'll play out the rest of his prime.
