Pro Football Focus Projects Browns Sign Intriguing Free-Agent Safety

With NFL free agency rapidly approaching, teams are cutting down their rosters to free up cap space. That has added some very interesting players to this year's loaded pool of available free agents.
Pro Football Focus has projected one of this year's top available free agents to sign with the Cleveland Browns — former Minnesota Vikings safety Anthony Harris.

Anthony Harris Browns
Harris was a cap casualty cut from the Vikings after having a down year in 2020, but the 29-year-old is still one of the top safeties in football.
Harris received an elite overall grade of 90.5 from PFF in 2019, which was right in line with the 89.0 grade he received in 2018. One down year (66.2 grade) while Harris is still young isn't something to be overly worried about, and if anything it could mean that the Browns land him at a discount.
Karl Joseph really struggled at the free safety spot for Cleveland, receiving an ugly overall grade of 54.7. That make safety one of the biggest holes on this defense.
Even with second-round pick Grant Delpit set to return after missing his entire rookie season, adding Harris could be a good way to mitigate risk in the event that the LSU product underwhelms, or is still hobbled by injury.
Upgrading with Harris would go a long way toward giving the Browns one of the most dangerous defenses in the AFC.
