The Denver Broncos 2022 campaign has been a complete failure up to this point. After acquiring Russell Wilson, the supposed missing piece for a championship roster, Denver started the year at 2-5 thanks to one of the worst offenses in football.
It's surely hasn't helped seeing Denver play four of their first seven games on nationally-televised primetime spots. But, the team has an opportunity to turn things around with a Week 8 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. They have to win, though.
If not, NFL insider Dan Graziano believes some major changes will be coming for the coaching staff.
Graziano doesn't think head coach Nathaniel Hackett will lose his job with a loss, but said "it wouldn't surprise me to see some sort of action, like a call for some changes on the staff or a rearranging of responsibilities," should Denver lose.
Denver's already made a slight adjustment in their personnel with the hiring of a game management consultant. Graziano questions if Hackett may finally pass off his play calling duties to another member of the staff.
The hope is for Denver to get things turned around in Week 8. But, Graziano is right about one thing. If the Broncos fall to 2-6, there needs to be some kind of change. Something has to give.
Unfortunately, the Broncos are considered 2.5-point underdogs in Week 8, according to NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.
