The Denver Broncos made the unfortunate (but necessary) decision to fire head coach Nathaniel Hackett after Week 16. No one expected Hackett to be canned in his first season at the helm, but Denver's unforgivable performance this season demanded a changing of the guard.

Now the Broncos are starting to clean house after Hackett's mess.

Denver Broncos Coaches Fired

Special teams coordinator Dwayne Stukes and offensive line coach Butch Barry were also fired on Monday. Given that they were brought in by Hackett, it obviously makes sense for the team to move on from that duo if they're not in the running to stick around.

Now the severely banged-up Broncos will be shorthanded on the sidelines as well with all this coaching turnover. Jerry Rosburg, who was brought in as an assistant to Hackett, is set to take over head coaching duties for the first time ever in his career. He'll be down two members of the staff with Stukes and Barry both being let go, however.

Denver luckily has just two more weeks before it can shut the door on this nightmare 2022 campaign. The offseason will bring some optimism with it as the team tries to regroup for next year and begins searching for a new head coach as well.
