The Denver Broncos were finally able to have both Melvin Gordon and Phillip Lindsay healthy in the same backfield again in Week 7, but unfortunately that didn't last long. Lindsay was forced from the game early and has landed in the concussion protocol.

And he remained there on Wednesday, keeping him out of Broncos practice.

Lindsay was coming off a solid game against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 8, where he was one of the Broncos' few offensive bright spots, rushing for 79 yards on just 9carries before exiting the game.

While it is not yet set in stone whether or not Lindsay will be permitted to suit up on Sunday against the Chargers, the signs at this point certainly aren't encouraging.

No Lindsay would mean more Melvin Gordon, and earlier this season MG3 racked up a total of 203 yards and 2 touchdowns on 50 carries in three games with Lindsay on the shelf.

Denver enters their matchup with the Chargers as 3-point home underdogs, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
