The Denver Broncos are one of eight NFL teams in need of a new head coach after parting ways with Vic Fangio earlier this month. It looks like their search could be over, though. Denver had a lengthy second interview with Green Bay Packers' offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett on Monday.

Broncos Head Coach

Hackett is a popular name across the league right now and has already interviewed for multiple head coaching positions including the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears. However, Hackett was the first Broncos' candidate to come to Denver in order to speak to general manager George Paton.

The 42-year-old has guided the Packers' offense since the start of the 2019 season. During that span, Green Bay twice finished amongst the top-10 scoring teams and made two appearances in the NFC Championship game. Hackett has also worked closely with NFL MVP candidate Aaron Rodgers.

It's worth mentioning that Hackett called plays for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2017 when they made the AFC Championship. He worked for the Buffalo Bills for two seasons as well and has 14 years of NFL coaching experience overall. He may be Denver's best shot at turning around a subpar offense.

Reports claim Dallas Cowboys' defensive coordinator Dan Quinn has a second interview lined up with the Broncos, but it certainly seems like Hackett is the frontrunner right now. Keep an eye on whether the offensive guru is offered the position in the next few days.
