Brewers Get Bad News With Latest Willy Adames Injury Update

The Milwaukee Brewers have quietly been one of the best teams in baseball the last few months, and the acquisition of shortstop Willy Adames played a big part in that. He is slashing .294/.375/.529 so far in 2021.
Unfortunately, the Brewers shortstop is heading to the IL. The timing is not great. As the Brewers fight for playoff positioning, they will be without Adames for at least a little more than a week.
Adames aggravated a quad injury on Sunday, and while it seemed clear he would miss some time, an IL stint wasn't a forgone conclusion. Now it is.

The Brewers are currently the No. 2 seed in the NL Playoffs, trailing the San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers, who are tied for the NL West lead. It's still possible for Milwaukee to catch them and grab the No. 1 seed, but ti will be more difficult without Adames.
