Brewers Get Tough Luis Perdomo Injury Update

The Milwaukee Brewers have been one of the top teams throughout the 2022 MLB season, sitting atop the NL Central with a promising 29-17 record. Their pitching staff has been key behind their early success, but now they're set to be without one of their top relievers for the foreseeable future.
The Brewers announced on Saturday that the right-handed Luis Perdomo has been placed on the 15-day injured reserve with right elbow effusion. He's been pitching extremely well since getting called up at the start of May, so his absence will be felt.

Luis Perdomo Injury Update
Perdomo is just the latest to join a long list of Brewers pitchers to land on the shelf. Freddy Peralta (shoulder), Jandel Gustave (hamstring) and Jake Cousins (elbow) were already on the IL. Adding Perdomo to that list is certainly less than ideal.
After a strong start to the 2022 season with Triple-A Nashville, Perdomo earned his MLB promotion on May 6 and hasn't looked back. He's gone 1-0 in seven relief appearances, pitching to a 1.74 ERA and 1.065 WHIP while striking out three batters over 10.1 innings.
The Brewers' 3.30 team ERA ranks fourth-best in the entire Majors. Any other pitching-related injuries could hamper that, which is why they can't afford to rush Perdomo's return and, potentially, worsen his issue.
As Perdomo tries to recover as quickly as he can, the Brewers have called up fellow righty Miguel Sánchez to take his spot in the bullpen. The 28-year-old veteran has gone 4-2 with a 2.12 ERA in 15 Triple-A appearances this season.
Brewers World Series Odds
All of the Brewers' injuries are an annoyance for the club, but they haven't really hurt their championship aspirations. Milwaukee currently holds the sixth-best 2022 World Series odds (+1100), according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
