Brewers Get Positive Freddy Peralta Injury Update

With just about one month left until the postseason, the Milwaukee Brewers are cemented as one of the best teams in the National League. Their 78-49 record is the third-best in the NL and has been built on the backs of a dominant starting rotation.
In fact, three Brewers starting pitchers rank in the top-seven of FanDuel Sportsbook's latest odds to win the NL Cy Young award. Freddy Peralta is among that trio (+4600), although he's seen his odds falling thanks to a current spot on the 10-day injured list.
But, the Brewers got some positive injury news on Thursday surrounding the potential return of one of their aces.
Freddy Peralta played catch today and feels “great.” Plan is bullpen tomorrow, few days off, another bullpen, then rejoin rotation. No firm plan but he’s thinking late in the SF series or early in the next homestand, then full go the rest of the way.

Freddy Peralta Injury Update
Peralta, sidelined with a shoulder issue, played catch on Thursday and reported feeling great afterwards. He's schedule to throw one or two more bullpen sessions over the next week and then will be reinstated in Milwaukee's starting rotation.
In 22 starts, Peralta has been terrific, pitching to a 2.45 ERA, 0.940 WHIP, while striking out 12.2 batters per nine innings across 9 wins. Adding in Brandon Woodruff's 2.38 ERA and Corbin Burnes' 2.30 mark, this trio of starting pitchers is a scary proposition heading into playoff baseball.
Currently, the Brewers hold +900 odds to win the World Series, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
