The Milwaukee Brewers selected Boston College outfielder Sal Frelick in the first round of the 2021 MLB Draft and it didn't take long for the young kid to make a good first impression. Frelick has reportedly been dominating at the plate with the Low-A Carolina Mudcats.

Sal Frelick Stats

Frelick has played in six games and is slashing .412/.429/.559 across 35 plate appearances. He has already racked up 7 runs scored and 6 RBI while hitting a home run as well. In fact, the No. 15 overall pick recently completed his first five-hit game in a 10-4 victory over Augusta on Tuesday night.

The 21-year-old signed a $4 million deal with Milwaukee and saw a quick promotion from Rookie ball to Low-A. It's always a positive sign to see players succeed in their first taste of professional action. Frelick is off to a hot start and could climb his way up the Brewers' prospect list if he keeps it up.

The former Golden Eagle played three college seasons and ended his career with an on-base percentage of .435. He also showcased his speed by stealing 38 bags across 102 games played. Frelick isn't expected to see any major league action for at least a few years, but he is a name that Brewers fans should keep in the back of their minds.

Meanwhile, Milwaukee currently leads the NL Central by 8.5 games with a 73-47 record and have the fifth-best odds to win the World Series at +900, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
