The Milwaukee Brewers will be aiming to win the NL Central division for the second year in a row this summer. Manager Craig Counsell is sure to have a balanced roster ready to exceed expectations and make a playoff run. That is why the Brewers will love their spot in ESPN's latest MLB power rankings.

Brewers Power Rankings

The Brewers check in at No. 7, which only trails the Los Angeles Dodgers (No. 1) and Atlanta Braves (No. 3) in the National League. Milwaukee also ranks a whopping eight spots ahead of the next NL Central team in the St. Louis Cardinals. It's clear that they are a team to be scared of in 2022.

Of course, the Brewers are widely praised for having one of the best starting rotations in baseball. Reigning Cy Young winner Corbin Burnes, 2021 All-Star Brandon Woodruff and Freddy Peralta all finished with ERAs under 2.85 last season. They also struck out a combined 640 batters in 85 starts.

It's not just the starting rotation that dazzles, though. Milwaukee brings back a scary one-two punch in the bullpen. Setup man Devin Williams owns a career ERA of 2.09 and closer Josh Hader has made the All-Star game in three of the last four seasons.

Losing Avasail Garcia is going to be a tough pill to swallow, but the Brewers did sign veteran slugger Andrew McCutchen. He has smacked at least 20 home runs in nine different seasons. Combine that power with a bounce-back campaign from outfielder Christian Yelich and Milwaukee is in good shape.

A weakened NL Central should help the Brewers soar to new heights. Milwaukee has odds set at +1200 to win their first World Series title since the 1982 season, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
