This week has been a rollercoaster for Brandin Cooks. The Houston Texans wide receiver was rumored to be dealt ahead of Tuesday's NFL trade deadline, only to end up staying put. Cooks then proceeded to opt out of playing on Thursday Night Football against the Philadelphia Eagles, which the Texans lost, 29-17.
On Friday, however, there was a new and unexpected turn for Cooks.
Brandin Cooks News
It was reported on Friday that Cooks will return to Houston's team facility, implying that he's ready to resume playing and willing to contribute.
This is great news for the Texans, as Cooks is unquestionably their best wide receiver. He leads the team in wide margins in targets (53), receptions (32) and receiving yards (354), making him Davis Mills' go-to weapon.
With the trade deadline behind him, the 29-year-old wideout can focus on helping Houston beat the New York Giants in Week 10. The Texans are currently 5.5-point road underdogs on FanDuel Sportsbook's early NFL odds as they shoot for their second win of the season.
