Brandin Cooks Injury Update Boosts Fantasy Outlook Ahead of Potential Week 12 Return vs Ravens

After suffering a concussion in the Los Angeles Rams' Week 8 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, Brandin Cooks' injury updates have been mostly negative.

Week 12 finally brings good news though, as Cooks is expected to return to action for a "Monday Night Football" matchup against the Baltimore Ravens.

Cooks left that Week 8 game after playing only eight snaps, but even removing that from the sample he's had a seriously up-and-down season for fantasy football production.

He's averaged 3.9 receptions and 57.4 yards on 6.3 targets per game, but his seven full games include two with north of 15 PPR fantasy points, and three with fewer than seven. As a deep threat that relies on big plays for his production, don't expect him to get any more consistent in an offense that has him competing for targets with Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods and Gerald Everett.

His return could be a slight ding for Kupp and Woods' value, but the player who really loses here is Josh Reynolds, who has averaged 6.3 targets per game since Week 8, compared to 1.4 per game for the first seven.

Unlike a lower-body injury, returning from a concussion doesn't leave much of a risk that Cooks will be limited against the Ravens, so we can expect him to step right back in to his usual role.

The Baltimore defense has been incredibly stingy in recent weeks, however, and the Rams' offense has scored just 29 points across the last two games. Cooks does not crack the top-36 at WR in our Week 12 PPR fantasy football rankings.
