The Buffalo Bills will have a new face working with the offensive line group during training camp after they signed veteran Jordan Simmons to a one-year contract on Monday morning. Simmons was one of 10 free agents the team held a workout for on Sunday and will take on an important reserve role.

Buffalo Bills News

Simmons best season came in 2020, when he gave up only 3.0 sacks over 532 offensive snaps in 14 games played (6 starts) with the Seattle Seahawks. He was then signed off the practice squad by the Las Vegas Raiders and appeared in five games this past year as a backup option (31 snaps).

Keep in mind this move comes just one day after the Bills placed Rodger Saffold on the non-football injury list. The starting left guard suffered a rib injury during a car crash and a timeline for his return has yet to be set. Right tackle Spencer Brown was also limited on the first day of practice.

Adding depth to protect All-Pro quarterback Josh Allen is never a bad idea. Simmons could possibly end up starting for the Bills if Saffold's injury lingers into the start of the regular season. Buffalo kicks off the year with a Thursday Night Football matchup against the Los Angeles Rams on Sept. 8.

The Bills have the best odds to win Super Bowl 57 at +650, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
