The Buffalo Bills' wide receiver depth chart has taken a hit in training camp with injuries and COVID-related absences now piling up. Buffalo could head into its final preseason without many real options at wideout.

However, there's plenty of free agents looking for work right now. And the Bills have signed an intriguing wideout to boost their depth at receiver.

Steven Sims Bills

Steven Sims Jr. has lached on with Buffalo quickly after recently being cut. The WR/return specialist now has a golden chance to prove why he deserves to stick around in the league.

Sims had a promising rookie year with the Washington Football Team in 2019, totaling 395 yards from scrimmage and 5 TDs. He also racked up 819 kickoff return yards and another score. But, he had a reduced role as a sophomore and was relegated to punt returns.

Turnovers proved to be a big issue that the 24-year-old will need to figure out if he's to find a spot in the league. He recorded 6 fumbles in two seasons with WFT, including five last year alone.

Given their current absences, this is a no-risk move for the Bills, and they get an up-close look at a player who still has potential waiting to be tapped.

Buffalo owns +1200 odds to win Super Bowl 56, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
