The Buffalo Bills were quick to decide the status of starting safety Jordan Poyer ahead of their Week 9 clash against the New York Jets. Poyer was ruled out on Friday because of an ongoing issue with his elbow.
Unfortunately, the Bills will be without another key starter on defense.
NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported early Sunday morning that starting linebacker Matt Milano is "likely to be out." Milano also picked up an oblique injury against the Green Bay Packers last week and only made one appearance as a limited participant in practice this week.
The six-year veteran is in the midst of another impressive campaign. He's already recorded a pair of interceptions, one that he took back for a TD. Milano also has 5 passes defended, 37 combined tackles and 5 tackles for loss.
Rookie Terrel Bernard will start in his place.
For now, the Bills enter Sunday's clash as 10.5-point road favorites according to NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.
