Josh Allen's breakout 2020 season has the Buffalo Bills excited about their future. Both sides are eager to work out a contract extension, as Allen will be well compensated and the Bills will have a franchise quarterback to lean on for years to come.

There's been an increase in talk surrounding a possible extension. And, it sounds like Allen is even willing to work on the details to help give his team an advantage.

Josh Allen Contract Extension

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler said on Sunday that Allen is open to being flexible in the structure of his deal. Fowler relayed that the QB is going to get top-five money, so there won't be a ton of room in terms of a discount, but Allen also wants to stay competitive and is open to salary cap tricks that will maximize the Bills' cap space. The Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes took a similar approach when the former MVP inked his 10-year deal last offseason.

This is awesome news for Bills fans and another reason to be excited about the future. Allen clearly won't be blinded by money in his contract talks and will allow his team the flexibility to retain or acquire top talent. After all, winning in the NFL requires a complete roster, no matter how good the QB is.

Buffalo is in good hands with Allen for the foreseeable future. The 25-year-old has the third-best odds (+1300) to win the NFL MVP this season on FanDuel Sportsbook.
