The Buffalo Bills expect to be Super Bowl contenders this season, and that means they won't settle at any position on the roster. Buffalo added several new pieces this offseason to help push veterans in key areas to their maximum potential through some healthy competition.

Now the Bills have unveiled their first official depth chart following the start of training camp, and it provides some insight on how these battles are going so far.

Bills Depth Chart 2022 Training Camp

It appears Buffalo's heralded rookie class has some work ahead of their themselves if they want to earn starting roles.

Veteran Dane Jackson is listed ahead of first-round pick Kaiir Elam for the second starting cornerback spot opposite of Tre'Davious White. However, fellow rookie Christian Benford is also reportedly in the mix after his strong showing at camp so far.

Running back is expected to be a hotly contested area as incumbent Devin Singletary looks to tighten his grip on RB1 duties. Former third-rounder Zack Moss has been thought of as a potential camp casualty with 2022 second-round pick James Cook now in the fold, but Cook is No. 3 and behind Moss right now in the hierarchy.

Following the departures of Emmanuel Sanders and Cole Beasley, the WR3 role is up for grabs behind Stefon Diggs and expected breakout star Gabriel Davis. Returning wideout Isaiah McKenzie has the early edge, being listed as the starter over free-agent signing Jamison Crowder.

Finally, "The Punt God" Matt Araiza finds himself second to veteran Matt Haack, the latter of whom could also be in jeopardy of losing his job to a young gun.

There's plenty of time for this early projection to change as extra practices and the start of preseason games will help Buffalo make tough decisions on these battles. Hopefully this early test will help bring the best out of whoever starts Week 1 for the Bills.
