Bills Fans Will Love This Jordan Poyer Contract Update
The Buffalo Bills' NFL offseason has been nothing short of phenomenal, from the signing of two-time Super Bowl champion Von Miller to the mega extension that wideout Stefon Diggs signed this week. The excitement continued to ramp up on Friday with the latest news around one of the team's top defenders.
Bills fans will absolutely love the latest contract update surrounding safety Jordan Poyer. The Athletic's Tim Graham recently spoke to Poyer's agent Drew Rosenhaus, who said that the 30-year-old veteran wants to continue his career in Buffalo for the foreseeable future.
Jordan Poyer Contract Extension
Rosenhaus told Graham that Poyer has spoken to management about an extension because the latter "would very much like to finish his career in Buffalo." Poyer has played in a Bills uniform since the team signed him to a four-year, $13 million contract back in March 2017.
Bills Mafia would love if Poyer remained with the team for the rest of his career after the 2021 campaign he had. He recorded nine passes defended and five interceptions while holding opposing quarterbacks to a 55.0% completion rate and 42.2 passer rating in 16 games. The result? Poyer's first-ever First-Team All-Pro nomination.
With a dynamic offense and much-improved defense, the Bills will likely remain championship contenders for years to come. Locking down Poyer for the remainder of his career will help solidify that.
The Bills will need Poyer to play at an All-Pro level if they want to live up to expectations next season. FanDuel Sportsbook currently favors Buffalo to win Super Bowl LVII at +650 odds.
