After suffering a scary elbow injury last week, Buffalo Bill safety Jordan Poyer has been unable to log a practice so far in Week 9. The All-Pro defender maintains he avoided a serious injury, but Bills fans have been itching to know if he'll be ready for Sunday's divisional matchup with the New York Jets.
On Friday, head coach Sean McDermott announced a final decision on Poyer's status.
Jordan Poyer Injury Update
According to McDermott, Poyer has officially been ruled out.
Von Miller also popped up on Buffalo's injury report ahead of Week 9. The elite pass-rusher did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday because of "vet rest/ankle."
The Bills' defense will definitely be without at least one of their crucial pieces against the Jets, who have been one of the biggest surprises of the first half at 5-3.
Poyer's absence is a big one for Buffalo, as he leads the team in both interceptions (4) and passes defended (6). Newly acquired safety Dean Marlowe could see his first action since re-joining the Bills after being traded from the Atlanta Falcons.
Even with a banged-up defense, Buffalo still enters this AFC East rivalry game as 11.5-point road favorites on FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
