The NFL Preseason is a time for players that have been flying under the radar to emerge and win a roster spot on their respective team. There have been a number of players that have fit this bill through the first two weeks, with these three players being the biggest surprises in Week 2 of the NFL Preseason.

1. Jakobi Meyers, WR, New England Patriots

Many looked at the Patriots' receiving corps after the retirement of Rob Gronkowski and thought this may be the year that New England takes a step back. However, the Patriots seemingly gained two receiving threats this week, with Josh Gordon being reinstated and Jakobi Meyers putting up another terrific performance. In preseason Week 2 against the Titans, Meyers caught six passes for 82 yards. This followed up his Week 1 six-catch breakout performance that went for 69 yards and two scores. Not only has the rookie played his way onto the team, he may earn himself a consistent role on this squad.

2. Garrett Gilbert, QB, Cleveland Browns

The unofficial MVP of the Alliance of American Football (AAF) has taken his confidence boost from that league and carried it over into the NFL Preseason. In Week 1, he completed 14-of-22 passes for 135 yards. He followed it up with a dominating 13-for-19 passing performance for 151 yards and two scores this past week. Through the first two weeks, Garrett Gilbert is making a strong case for the backup spot behind Baker Mayfield.

3. Tanner Hudson, TE, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Team have not been able to handle Tanner Hudson, the 6'5" tight end out of Southern Arkansas, so far this preseason. In Week 1, he grabbed seven passes for 84 yards and a score. He showed in Week 2 that wasn't a fluke, catching six passes for 93 yards and a score. Hudson has been one of the most dominating receiving threats in the preseason thus far, and with another standout performance, he should clinch his spot in a talented tight end group for Tampa Bay.
