After bringing in a couple notable veterans from out east, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are thinking Super Bowl this season. However, if they want to make it that far, it will be the younger players that need to step up and make plays.
Luckily for Tampa, they have talented youth to go along with their veteran leadership. These are the three best Buccaneers players under 25 years old.
3. Sean Murphy-Bunting, CB (22)
Sean Murphy-Bunting started 10 games for the Buccaneers as a rookie. He had his ups and downs as a whole, as most rookie defensive backs do, but there were plenty of ups. He led the defense with three interceptions, with one being a pick six. Murphy-Bunting also defended eight passes, forced one fumble, totaled 44 tackles and notched one sack. In his second season, he needs to improve upon the 65 percent completion rate he allows.
2. Devin White, LB (22)
Devin White enjoyed a productive rookie season. He finished second on the team in total tackles (91), including four tackles for a loss. White also had five quarterback hits, 2.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and one interception. However, the most highlight-worthy plays from his rookie season were his two scoop-and-scores. White returned four fumbles 121 yards last season, two of which going for touchdowns.
1. Chris Godwin, WR (24)
There's no question who the best player in Tampa under 25 is. Chris Godwin enjoyed a breakout season in 2019, Totaling 86 receptions for 1,333 yards and nine touchdowns in only 14 games. This yardage output ranked third in the NFL, and his nine touchdowns tied him for fourth in the league. Godwin will play slot receiver for Tom Brady this season, which has been a featured position throughout Brady's career.
