The Cincinnati Bengals' hot start to the 2021 NFL season continued on Thursday with a 24-21 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. It wasn't an easy victory, though, since the Bengals were down 14-0 at halftime.
Still, Cincinnati managed to claw its way back from that deficit to prove how much heart the team has. Credit has to be given to head coach Zac Taylor for getting his squad to believe in his vision, which can be tough when a team is trailing.
You can get a better idea of the strength of Taylor's bond with his players by watching the epic postgame speech that the Bengals' Twitter team released following the victory.
The third-year head coach wasted no time pointing out how hard the Bengals fought to come back from that 14-0 deficit, praising Cincinnati for scoring on every possession of the second half.
Taylor also gives out one of the game balls to tight end C.J. Uzomah, who had one of the best games of his career on Thursday. The 28-year-old hauled in five of his six targets for 95 yards and a pair of touchdowns that got the Bengals back in the game.
Sophomore quarterback Joe Burrow also received a game ball as he continues to bounce back from his season-ending knee injury last year. He started the game slowly, but Burrow ended the contest with a whopping 348 passing yards and the two TD passes to Uzomah.
Burrow finished the epic speech by asking the team the famous question of "Who dey think gonna beat dem Bengals?" to which the team replies "NOBODY!"
With the way they've been playing, it'll be interesting to see exactly who can stop the Bengals and their newfound momentum.
