Following a much-needed bye in Week 10, the Cincinnati Bengals return to the practice field in preparation for a Week 11 clash against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Fortunately, they'll return with a key member of the defensive front.

On Monday, the Bengals received big news on injured defensive lineman D.J. Reader.

The team opened Reader's 21-day window for his return from the IR. Cincinnati has 21 days to officially activate the seven-year veteran, or he'll be forced back onto the IR for the remainder of the year.

Fortunately the coaching staff is "optimistic" regarding his return, according to team insider Paul Dehner Jr. Both Zac Taylor and Lou Anarumo hold optimism for Reader's official return as soon as Sunday's clash against the Steelers.

Reader hasn't played since Week 3 of the season thanks to a knee ailment. He racked up 10 combined tackles and 3 quarterback hits in that early stretch to start the year.

The Bengals sit as 4.5-point road favorites for Sunday's AFC North clash, according to NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.
