Bengals Get Disappointing News With Latest Joe Mixon Injury Update

Joe Mixon is one of the more dependable running backs in the NFL, but he suffered a foot injury that kept him on the sidelines in Week 7. While there was thought to be some hope he would play in the Cincinnati Bengals' Week 8 game against the Tennessee Titans, the recent update makes that look like it could be a long-shot.
Mixon was held out of the Bengals' practice Wednesday, which isn't a good sign for his status on Sunday.

Says Mixon, Jonah, Trey won't practice today.#Bengals
Mixon was averaging a respectable 71.3 yards rushing prior to his injury and was the focal point of the Bengals' offense. Gio Bernard has filled in admirably for Mixon, but the Bengals would like to have their most talented offensive weapon back on the field as soon as possible. The way it looks now, they might have to wait another week for that.
While nothing is set in stone yet, it's definitely a situation to monitor in the next few days.
