In continued fallout from the injuries to Joseph Ossai and Trae Waynes, the Cincinnati Bengals made a pair of waiver claims to add defensive depth on Tuesday. Ossai will start the season on the injured reserve list, while Waynes may miss up to month with a nagging hamstring issue.

The waiver claims included defensive end Wyatt Ray as well as defensive back Nick McCloud.

Ray is a 2019 undrafted product out of Boston College who comes over from the Tennessee Titans and has seen practice squad stints with the Cleveland Browns, Houston Texans, Buffalo Bills and New York Jets. During his last season with the Titans, Ray saw action in 4 games while recording 1.0 sack and 1 tackle for loss.

McCloud, a 2020 undrafted free agent from Notre Dame, signed with the Buffalo Bills this past spring and was impressive during the preseason. In three contests, the defensive back recorded 1 interception, 2 passes defensed, and nine total tackles.

Cincinnati heads into Week 1 of the NFL season as 3.5-point underdogs against the Minnesota Vikings, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
