The Chicago Bears will take on the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5 as they look to secure their third win of the year. Though the Bears are the underdog heading into this matchup, their backfield has received a serious boost with the return of top running back David Montgomery.
However, it appears Montgomery's short absence from the team has caused the equipment staff to forget his name.
David Montgomery News
Bears beat reporter Nicholas Moreno captured a photo of Montgomery warming up prior to Sunday's game with a major gaffe on the back of his jersey. His last name is misspelled as "Montogomery" instead of the correct "Montgomery."
It remains to be seen if the veteran RB actually takes the field with the incorrect spelling, or if the Bears potentially have a backup jersey on-site. Either way, this certainly adds an extra element of humor heading into this divisional clash.
Montgomery was coming off of a season-best performance in Week 2 against the Green Bay Packers before he went down in Week 3 with what appeared to be a serious ankke/knee injury. Instead, he's miraculously back on the field after missing only one full game.
His return is something Minnesota must prepare for, though it's unclear if he'll assume his normal workload or be used in a limited capacity while Khalil Herbert leads the backfield.
