Chicago Bears running back Khalil Herbert hasn't been on the field since Week 10. As the team prepares for its Week 15 game, coming off of a bye, head coach Matt Eberflus is optimistic about the return of Herbert.

Khalil Herbert Injury Update

Granted, Herbert is still on IR and will be eligible to come off next week. The earliest Herbert can be active on the field is for the Bears' Dec. 24 game against the Buffalo Bills.

Herbert really shined at times this year as a change-of-pace back behind Montgomery. He's rushed for at least 50 yards in five of the 10 games he's appeared in. The Bears have officially been eliminated from playoff contention as they sit at 3-10 this season, so the rest of the way will be more about player development and finding out what they have in the locker room for next season rather that prioritizng winning games this season.

Things don't get easy for the Bears in Week 15 either, as they go up against the Philadelphia Eagles. Chicago is an 8.5-point home favorite in that contest, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest NFL odds.
