One of the most exciting parts of any given NCAA college football season is the bowl games. This year's slate of games isn't any different, including the Birmingham Bowl, which will be played between the No. 20 Houston Cougars and Auburn Tigers.

FanDuel Sportsbook's opening odds list Auburn as the 3-point favorite with -110 odds to cover. Houston's odds to cover the spread also sit at -110.

Opening Birmingham Bowl Odds

When it comes to the moneyline, the Tigers' odds to win currently sit at -150, while the Cougars are listed as the +122 underdogs.

This year's Birmingham Bowl will be Auburn's second appearance at the annual spectacle. The Tigers' last appearance came in 2015, which resulted in a 31-10 victory over Memphis.

Meanwhile, this will also be Houston's second Birmingham Bowl appearance. Unfortunately for the Cougars, their 2014 showing ended in a 41-24 blowout at the hands of Vanderbilt.

This month's collision will be the seventh head-to-head matchup between Houston and Auburn, with the latter leading the series 5-1. Their last meeting ended in a 7-0 Tigers victory on Oct. 27, 1973, so it's safe to say that this year's matchup will likely have a lot more points on the board.

The 2021 Birmingham Bowl will take place at 12 p.m. EST on Tuesday, Dec. 28 at Protective Stadium in Birmingham, AL.
