The MLB Winter Meetings are in full swing with a bevy of important front-office executives, agents and free agents around baseball converging in San Diego. It's a time ripe for blockbuster deals and signings.

One of the teams potentially involved are the Oakland Athletics, who are reportedly shopping Gold Glove catcher Sean Murphy.

On Tuesday, MLB insider Ken Rosenthal revealed the Athletics' asking price for their 28-year-old backstop.

Sean Murphy Rumors

According to Rosenthal, Oakland is seeking multiple young players/prospects in return for Murphy. If the A's don't receive an offer to their liking, they have no issues keeping the Gold Glove winner, who is still under team control through 2025.

Rosenthal goes on to explain that Oakland is in a good position regarding Murphy's negotiations. He's only projected to earn $3.5 million in arbitration and won't break the bank. The A's are in no rush to deal him and can afford to be patient while waiting for another team to make a fair offer.

No team has "separated themselves" in the current negotiations, according to Rosenthal.
