The Houston Astros have seen a successful start to their 2021 MLB Season. While the baseball world can't seem to forget about their controversial World Series run, the Astros have blocked out the haters to the tune of a 5-1 start to the season.
The Astros are currently in the driver's seat of the AL West as they sit a single game ahead of the second-place Los Angeles Angels. ESPN has noticed the Astros' hot start and has promptly given them a boost in their latest MLB power rankings.

ESPN had previously ranked the Astros at No. 9 in their Opening Day power rankings. However, fast forward one week and Houston nows sits at No. 5.
The Astros have a decent gap between them and the next closest AL West teams in the Angels (No. 10) and Oakland Athletics (No. 18).
When it comes to pitching and defense, the Astros have been one of the better teams in those categories this season. Opposing teams are scoring just 3.00 runs per game against the Astros (fourth in the majors). Meanwhile, the Astros' elite collection of bats has them scoring 7.50 runs per game through their first six contests (second in the majors).
FanDuel Sportsbook has listed the Astros' odds to win the World Series at +2100. Across all MLB teams, that ranks Houston as having the eighth-best odds.
