The Houston Astros are heading to Truist Park on Saturday to face off against the Atlanta Braves at 7:15 p.m. ET. The Braves got the better of the Astros on Friday night with a 6-2 final score. Fortunately, Houston has reinforcements on the way in the form of a top prospect to help them bounce back.

Astros insider Chandler Rome reports that the Astros plan to call up top prospect and utilityman David Hensley. The news comes after infielders Mauricio Dubon and Aledmys Diaz have been dealing with injuries.

Astros Roster News

A former 2018 third-round pick, Hensley was finally promoted to Triple-A this season and hasn't looked back. The San Diego, California, native has played well for the Sugar Land Space Cowboys, recording 30 doubles, 10 home runs and 51 RBIs while slashing .298/.420/.478 in 379 at-bats.

While his offense has been solid, Hensley's versatility earned him his call-up. He's played at least 131.1 innings at every infield position this season and even spent another 51 in left field. He's the type of player that Astros manager Dusty Baker can just plug in and play anywhere he needs.

There's no telling when Hensley will debut because his call-up isn't official just yet. The Astros still need to move a player to make space on the 40-man roster. Assuming he can continue his solid Triple-A play, Hensley's presence will give Houston a boost whenever he finally suits up.

Astros World Series Odds

Hensley's versatility and consistent bat could be what the Astros needs to solidify their championship aspirations. For now, the Astros' +380 odds to win the 2022 World Series only trail the Los Angeles Dodgers (+310) on FanDuel Sportsbook.
