The Houston Astros raised some eyes on Thursday when it was revealed that Kyle Tucker would be riding the bench against the Minnesota Twins. After all, the power-hitting right fielder is currently in the middle of a 15-game hit streak. Unfortunately, it turns out that Tucker missed last night's game for a concerning reason.

Astros insider Julia Morales reports that Tucker was absent due to a foot injury. While there aren't too many details of the severity just yet, it's still concerning news considering that the MLB postseason is just over a month away.

Kyle Tucker Injury Update

Astros manager Dusty Baker did have some additional information on Tucker's injury after the game. He told reporters in a scrum that the 25-year-old's status is considered "day-to-day" and that the team is working hard to prevent any more players from getting hurt down the stretch.

Tucker has played a key role in Houston's success this year. He's slashing .260/.338/.477 through 115 games, recording 22 doubles, 22 home runs, 82 RBIs, 50 walks and 19 stolen bases. The Tampa, FL native's efforts throughout the campaign earned him his first-ever MLB All-Star appearance.

For now, the belief is that Mauricio Dubon will take over for Tucker in right field. The 28-year-old veteran is batting .218 with 4 HRs and 21 RBIs in 77 games split between the Astros and San Francisco Giants this season.

Hopefully, Tucker can pick up from where he left off upon his return. During his 15-game hit streak, he's piled up 23 hits, 3 HRs and 15 RBIs while batting .371 in 62 at-bats. Considering that the Astros went 11-5 over that span, it's easy to see how crucial he is to their success.

Orioles vs Astros Odds (Aug. 26)

The next challenge for the Tucker-less Astros is a date with the Baltimore Orioles on Friday at 8:10 p.m. ET. With home-field advantage on their side, the Astros are viewed as the -200 moneyline favorites, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, while the Orioles are +168 underdogs.
