Updated (Friday, Dec. 25, 1:07 EST): Antonio Gibson was limited in practice again on Friday and is listed as questionable for Week 16. The running back was at least able to suit up after missing the last two games, which is a positive sign regarding his availability for Sunday, but his status remains something to monitor. Backup JD McKissic would be in line for lead back duties if Gibson is out again.

Washington Football Team fans and fantasy football managers will be glad to hear that running back Antonio Gibson was able to practice on Wednesday. Although he was limited, this is a step in the right direction for Gibson to be active on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.

Gibson has missed the team's last two games due to a toe injury, but would immediately slide back into his starting role when healthy. Washington is in the hunt for a playoff spot and getting Gibson back would only improve their chances of winning these next two games.

Antonio Gibson Fantasy Outlook

If you are in your fantasy football championship this week, it is worth keeping an eye on Gibson's status. He will likely be questionable to play all week, but should receive his usual workload if he is able to play. In each of his last three full games played, Gibson has seen at least 13 carries and scored a touchdown.

Gibson draws a great matchup in Week 16 facing a Panthers' defense that hasn't been impressive at defending the run this season. They have given up 1,461 rushing yards and 13 total touchdowns to opposing running backs. Both of those marks rank within the top 10 highest totals in the NFL.

With 11 touchdowns on the season and an average of 4.7 yards per carry, Gibson is a must start player if he is able to suit up this week. He remains a focal point of this offense. However, if he is ultimately ruled out, backup JD McKissic would have RB2 value once again this week.
