Antonio Gibson is one of the many players who's dealt with injuries throughout the 2021 NFL season. While he's been a bright spot for the Washington Football Team and fantasy managers alike, it's looking like his injuries may finally be catching up to him.

Antonio Gibson Injury Update

Gibson did not practice at all with Washington on Thursday. This news is especially concerning after he was a limited participant at Wednesday's session.

The team and fans will know more about his Week 17 status after Friday's practice. Nevertheless, this latest news has certainly left his fantasy outlook up in the air. You typically want to see a player's status improving throughout the week of practice, not getting worse.

Antonio Gibson Fantasy

Battling through injuries, Gibson has yet to miss a game this season. The 23-year-old has averaged 13.8 PPR fantasy points per game, which has landed him as the RB10 ahead of Week 17.

If he does suit up, Gibson would face a promising matchup against a Philadelphia Eagles defense giving up the 11th-most points to running backs this season. Considering how he logged 18.5 points against the Eagles two weeks ago, he could be poised for a similar performance.

If he can't go, Washington will likely use a combination of Jonathan Williams and Jaret Patterson. Neither backup has shown much fantasy potential this season, but Patterson has rushed for 53 yards and 1 touchdown on 13 carries over the last two weeks. He could offer some sleeper upside if you're desperate.
